Delhi to Ayodhya (Travel & Major Temple Visits)
- Your spiritual journey to Ayodhya begins early in the morning with a transfer from your location in Delhi to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) for a direct flight to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya (AYJ). The flight duration is approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, offering a swift and comfortable travel option. Alternatively, some travelers may arrive via overnight train, reaching Ayodhya early morning. Upon arrival, you will be received by a local tour representative and transferred to your pre-booked hotel for check-in and refreshments.
- Begin your divine exploration with a visit to the majestic Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, the sacred birthplace of Lord Rama. Spend time offering prayers and absorbing the spiritual energy of this deeply revered site. Note that security is strict—mobile phones and bags may need to be stored in lockers. Afterward, proceed to Hanuman Garhi, a 10th-century temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. Situated atop a hill, you’ll climb a flight of stairs to reach the shrine and enjoy panoramic views of the city from the top.
- Next, visit Kanak Bhawan, also known as Sone-ka-Mandir. This beautifully decorated temple is dedicated to Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and is believed to have been gifted to Sita by Kaikeyi. As the sun begins to set, head to the banks of the sacred Saryu River and visit Ram Ki Paidi—a series of well-constructed ghats perfect for taking a holy dip or enjoying a peaceful evening. If your schedule allows, don’t miss the mesmerizing Saryu Aarti, a soulful prayer ceremony held at dusk. End the day with an overnight stay in a comfortable hotel in Ayodhya.
